Each shape is the same major triad (R, 3, 5) arranged differently across the strings. Learning them gives you a visual map of where every chord lives in every position.

Tip: Combine CAGED with triad practice. Pick a shape, find the R-3-5 on the fretboard above, then play them as separate chords (not just strummed) to internalize the voicing.
